Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th, 1967. Julia Fona Roberts is the fourth generation Roberts who reside in Atlanta. Her father was a theatre enthusiast at an early age. When he was a student at Emory University he appeared in numerous productions in and outside of campus. In 1953, when he joined the Air Force, he appeared alongside Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. The couple got married in 1955, and their first son Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In the year 1957, they left the airforce and Walter began his studies at Tulane University. Walter became a member of Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio at the time the family relocated from Atlanta to Georgia's Decatur in 1960. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the local Saturday morning children's TV show Bum Bum and His Buddies that they self-funded. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou founded the Actors and Writers Workshop. It lasted for 6 years. In 1965, they welcomed two children to the family: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
