Grey was then a global star as she played insecure Jeannie on Ferris Bueller's Day Off, a John Hughes comedy opposite Matthew Broderick. After being successful in minor roles in films such as The Cotton Club and Red Dawn Grey made her name a household name when she portrayed Jeannie, the sister who is jealous in Ferris Bueller's Day Off alongside Matthew Broderick.
